PriceProof

Terms of use

Last updated: 5 October 2026

These terms govern your use of price-proof.com. By reading the site you accept them. They are short and mostly amount to: read it, cite it, do not blame us for decisions you make with it.

What this site is

PriceProof is a publication. It reports figures drawn from public United States government contract records, sourced from USAspending.gov, and presents them alongside vendor list prices where those are published. It is journalism and reference material — not software, not a service, and not advice.

What this site is not

PriceProof is not a pricing quote, a procurement guide, a legal opinion, or a financial forecast. The figures here describe what particular public agencies paid in particular past transactions. They do not predict what any vendor will charge you, and they do not describe the price of any product in general.

Contract pricing is not list pricing. Awards reflect negotiated scope, volume, term length, reseller margin, incumbent discounts and the specific terms of one procurement. Two agencies can pay very different amounts for the same software in the same year, and both figures can be correct. Any use of these figures as a substitute for a quote, a bid analysis, or professional procurement advice is a misuse of the site, and you accept the consequences of that misuse yourself.

Accuracy and its limits

We take accuracy seriously and the methodology page describes how figures are produced and checked. Those checks have hard limits, and you should understand them:

Prices move and we cannot promise that every figure is current at the moment you read it. Every page shows when it was last verified.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PriceProof and its publisher are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of this site or your reliance on any figure published on it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is zero.

You are responsible for how you use the information here, for verifying anything you rely on against the underlying record, and for obtaining professional advice before making a procurement, legal or financial decision.

Reuse

The figures and the underlying records are public data, originally published by the United States government through USAspending.gov. Government data is generally not subject to copyright in the United States, and we claim no ownership over the award facts themselves. You may cite figures from this site and we would rather you verified them against the source, which every page links to.

The presentation — our written analysis, page structure, charts, and compilation — is our work. You may quote and cite it with attribution and a link. Wholesale republication of our pages, or republishing our compilation as your own product, is not permitted without written consent.

The site's name and its presentation are not licensed for reuse in a way that suggests endorsement of a product, a vendor or a bid.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it in a way that degrades service for others, or misrepresent its content. Do not present our figures as vendor quotes, as current offers, or as the endorsement of any product. Attributing a figure to PriceProof while altering it is a misrepresentation of both the figure and us.

Third-party content

Links to USAspending.gov, vendor pricing pages and other external sites are provided for verification, not as endorsement. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or accuracy.

Changes and governing terms

We may revise these terms; the "last updated" date above will change when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

Questions about these terms go to [email protected]. The publisher is named on the about page. For how we handle information, see the privacy policy.
