PriceProof

Contact

PriceProof is a small publication and the inbox is read by the publisher directly. There is no support desk and no ticket system — but every message is read, and messages about the data get priority.

The one address

[email protected]

That address reaches the publisher, Lars Cornelissen. It is the right address for everything below: corrections, questions, additions, and anything else. We do not run separate addresses per topic, because with a publication this size separate addresses mostly mean messages that nobody reads.

We aim to reply within a few business days. A correction that changes a published figure is handled first, ahead of everything else.

Corrections

If a figure on this site is wrong — the amount, the agency, the date, the award ID, the unit, or the way a figure is labelled — please tell us, and include the award ID if you have it. The award ID is the quickest route: it identifies the exact public record, and we can compare our published figure against the source in a single step.

Corrections are not an inconvenience here. Every claim on this site is supposed to be traceable to a public record, so a figure that does not match its record is a defect, and finding one is a favour. Corrected pages are re-published with the correction noted in the page's change history.

Adding a product

If a product you care about is missing, it is usually because the public record is thin rather than because we overlooked it. Our methodology page explains the threshold: a product needs enough distinct public awards naming it explicitly, or one award plus a verified vendor list price, before it earns a page. Products that fall short are listed as rejected, with the reason, rather than given a thin page.

That said, we are glad to hear about products we have mis-aliased. If a product is named differently in award text than we expected — a former company name, a product line, a common abbreviation — a note telling us what to look for is genuinely useful, because the matching is done by a literal alias list and an alias that is missing means awards that are invisible to us.

Vendor and agency enquiries

Vendors are welcome to contact us, and some do. If you believe a page misrepresents your product, tell us which figure and which record and we will look at it the same way we would look at any other correction — against the award record itself, not against the vendor's preference.

One thing to be clear about in advance: PriceProof does not accept payment, sponsorship, or affiliate commission from vendors, and does not remove or soften published figures in exchange for any commercial arrangement. The figures come from public awards; they stay as the records show them. We will correct a factual error, and we will explain our method at length, but we will not negotiate the numbers.

What we cannot help with

Postal and identity

PriceProof is published at price-proof.com by Lars Cornelissen, who is named on the about page with a short biography. Email is the only contact channel we operate; we do not run a phone line, and we do not accept contact by social media message because those are easy to lose and impossible to keep a record of.
